Marcus A. Rodriguez, Ph.D.
I am the director of the Global Mental Health Research Lab and Associate Professor of Psychology at Pitzer College. I am also the founder and director of the Youth and Family Institute. I was born in California, grew up in Mexico, studied in Germany during college, lived in China for 9 years after college, and have been to more than 80 countries. As a scholar, my primary aim is to provide new insights into effective ways of increasing access to mental health care in an economic, feasible and scalable manner. As a clinician, I specialize in delivering Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in English, Spanish and Mandarin to adults, adolescents and families. As a consultant, I have co-led DBT trainings for mental health professionals throughout China, Latin America, and the United States. I enjoy travel hacking (and travel), spending time with my family, and writing children’s books about emotions and diversity.
